Hi Guys,
Okay so I've been wanted to do a blog for so long, but I have never known what to do it about and I have finally come up with an idea what to do it on. Well my fabulous idea is that I have now become so so fed up with buying on the highstreet and constantly spending too much money and it going to the major retailers which is so ridiculous as these brands are so big and they are practically dictating to everyone what they should and should not be wearing and yes as a fashion student I know full well that trends are so vital within the industry but I think it's time to take it into my own hands and begin my own twist on it.
SO...
My idea is to buy items of clothing from 2nd hand retailers such as charity shops and eBay and to reinvent them. Now I know that this idea has been done before and is being done I just believe that 'Upcycling' is the way to go as we are living in such a 'throw away society'. This for those of you who haven't heard of it is that an item previously used is turned into something fabulous. So it is like 'recycling' but it doesn't involve the product being turned into something completely different.
I am currently getting ideas together and testing them out for my own personal use for now to get an idea on how things are going to turn out and if my ideas actually work out, which I will be showing the results on this blog which is the whole point of it is to show you lovely people how easy and fab it can turn out rather than spending your well earned cash on clothes on the highstreet. I also hope to create an outlet which I can sell to people online, which obviously depends on if the tests I am doing now turn out as planned.
I also hope to be able to make my own clothes to sell on, these garments that I will go onto make I don't at the minute plan on making them that fancy just something maybe a little different but this idea is something I have to work out how I will go about doing it as it requires a bit of time to make patterns and working garments, but this is something I will aim towards going in the future but for now I am going to stick to 'upcycling' and see how that works out.
I hope that people will follow me as I create this blog and if they would like anything in particular made for them just let me know and I'll see if I can do it.
Love and thanks from,
Lois
